New COVID-19 cases over 250,000 for 2nd day; deaths at all-time high

 The Covid-19 South Korean daily case remains above 250,000 for the second consecutive day of Saturday, and the number of daily deaths reaches other heights in the midst of the rapid spread of Omicron variants.


The country reported 254,327 new Covid-19 infections, including 254,250 local cases, raising the total Caseload to 4,212,652, according to the Control Agency and Prevention of Korea.


Tally daily fell slightly from 266,853 the previous day, when the number reached a record high two days after a daily infection exceeded 200,000 for the first time since the country reported the first virus case in January 2020.


Total Covid-19 Caseload exceeded 4 million on Saturday, only five days after reaching a sign of 3 million. The total count exceeded 1 million signs earlier this month, said KDCA.
